Occurrence Sites

The links below will let you download KML files that show the locations where our land birds have previously been found. These KML files should be opened using Google Earth (see: Importing KML files on Google Earth for more details). Sites where the Canada Warbler, Olive-sided Flycatcher, and Rusty Blackbird were previously found are represented by yellow, green, and orange points, respectively. When you click on one of these points, you will get detailed information about that site including location data in both lat/long and UTMs.

You have the option to look at all locations of a species for each county, or for Nova Scotia as a whole. If you would like to view the sites on Google Maps, please click the View Map option to the right of each link. Note that this option just allows you to look at the map, whereas downloading and opening the associated KML files on Google Earth will also let you access detailed information for each site.

When you have selected a place to visit, please return to our Conduct a Survey Page for detailed instructions on how to conduct and submit a survey!
